Someone who has gone "above and beyond" what is expected of them in the protection of the environment? Maybe it's you, your group or your business. Why not share that success and let others learn from your experience by submitting an Emerald Award nomination?
There are several award categories, including some for individuals, not-for-profits, the public sector and businesses. No doubt someone you know is deserving of a nomination for an Emerald Award. Take a look and decide which category your nominee fits in.
NEW THIS YEAR: Emerald Challenge Award: Each year, the Alberta Emerald Foundation Board of Directors will select a topic of current importance to the well being of Alberta's environment. The selected topic is one that will provide many challeneges to all involved parties and where inspirational environmental leadership is needed. The theme for the 2010 Emerald Challenge Award is Alberta's Oil Sands. This award will recognize excellence and leadership related to evironmental activities in Alberta's Oil Sands. Any group, individual, government or business may nominate their project relating to any aspect of any Oil Sands deposit in Alberta.
Important dates to remember:
- Late-November, 2010 - nominations will open
- 4 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2010 - close of nominations
- Thursday, June 10, 2010 - Emerald Awards presented at the Martha Cohen Theatre in Calgary
