Emerald Intern Program

Thanks to the generous support of the Alberta Beverage Container Recycling Corporation and EPCOR, the Alberta Emerald Foundation is pleased to offer an internship program which will provide meaningful educational and training experience for a post-secondary student.  This position is based at our office in Edmonton, beginning with part-time, casual work through the winter and shifting to full-time work in mid-April and through the summer months.

Through this employment and mentoring position, the Alberta Emerald Foundation is also building capacity, providing a "win-win" situation.

About the Emerald Intern Position

We are looking for a positive, creative and enthisiastic individual with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills as well as a keen interest in the environment.  The Emerald Intern must have a thorough knowledge of MS Office as well as excellent and efficient computer skills.  Also, the Emerald Intern must be a self-starter who is able to work with limited supervision.

Some of the duties that the Emerald Intern will be responsible for include:

  • helping to execute the Emerald Events in April and June
  • planning and preparation for the next year's Emerald Events
  • maintain Emerald e-communications (Twitter, Facebook, e-news, etc)
  • develop and maintain the Emerald website
  • formal and marketing writing and communications
  • maintain and develop AEF databases
  • identify and develop youth engagement strategies
  • general administrative support and office management

The Emerald Intern position begins a part-time, flexible basis through the winter months and shifts to a full-time position for the spring and summer months.

The Emerald Intern Postion Has Been Filled for 2010
